and the snares - first generation COB 2000, uncommon 10 Lug COB Royal Ace, 70s aluminum Hi-Fi and 60s wood Hi-Fi snares, Premier 35 snare, 60s wood Royal Ace. There have been others too.

Signia Walnut. 12, 14, 18, w/matching. The pic shows a 7x14 snare but I have since traded it for a 5.5x14 Walnut that works much better for me with the 18" bass.

and where the madness began, this is my late Uncle Lee giving me my first lesson when I was six in 1966, he passed away two weeks ago and was a lifetime Premier user:

Gary - cute photo. Sorry for your Uncle but man what amazing drums. Were they orange sparkle? Sad that the selection of Premier vintage in the US is so bad.

Thanks and they were red sparkle as the photo has faded a little. My uncles first drum was a Royal Ace snare and I think his last Premier giging kit was an APK:
