I think Joe Morello owned it and traded it to John Bonham - Bonham gave it back to Mr. Morello and the rest is "History" DOH

Thanks for the input!

That's the history, but Party

I've got six drums with those stamped lugs. I've never heard of or seen a cast Zephyr lug? Anyone got a pic, I'm curious?

kev, W.F.L. never made cast Zephyr lugs..They were always stamped made...I was watching that auction it sat a 113.60 for a few days. Then went to over 500.00....Iam going to P/M you....Mikey

The bass drum creep stopper should definitely fetch over $500 if the seller had not omitted the name Ringo in his listing title.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

I was mistaken about the lugs. I have only seen a couple in person and one kit had a bunch of cracked ones that lead me to believe the die cast rather than stamped (brass?)

Yes - you have to watch carefully for sure.

What's "shill bidding" again?

Is that where the seller has a friend that 'seeds' the bidding to drive the price up?? - I'm guess here.

Yes. Or the seller has a couple accounts and drives up his own price. The seller will either stop bidding when he thinks he has you maxxed out or will bid to actually win it and see how high you will go. Then you get an email stating the auction winner didn't pay yada yada and you can have it for the same price. At least that is how I would max my profit from a sale if I ever decided to sell something on there. Caveat Emptor!

I closed my eBay account a while back. I actually opened a new temp account so I could buy one item for a kit I was finishing up ... that account is gone, too. I reeeeeeeeealy don't trust them anymore. Nasty stuff, there. Lots of kit rippers and shill bidders. Done and done.

Preachin' to the choir, my dear friend. placed bids on some cymbals this week and within an hour, three "0" bidders came up to "outbid" me. Did I expect it, you know I did, I was trying my luck. Each one out bid by less than a dollar...Shill bidding is "illegal" in America, and on ebay, supposedly....according to the TOS I agreed to.

Anyone wanna buy some Paiste cymbals, a 15" pair of hats and an 18" ride? Nevermind they are Stanolpes, same as Ludwig Standards, for like 400? Can't forget it is a pair of top hats and a slider.....any takers????
