Thinking of buying this kit Last viewed: 9 minutes ago

Tough call because they are so uncommon, and they are Slings. Not a lot of other sold examples to measure by either.

On one hand,a club date kit with matching snare and a couple of A Zils and cases 1200.00 would be fair.Slings usually go for less,as far as top line series go.

It looks like that kit is a 20 12 16,would be worth more if the FT was a 14,and the snare,if a 6 lug is a 125.00 175.00 drum, which it could be considering that is a lower line kit,if the snare is 8 lugs it is worth more.

But that is a terrific looking vintage kit that like the others say you don't see very often.

Like others said the rarity could go either way for the seller,If I wanted them and had the money I would not feel ripped off if I paid 1200.00 ish,but I love the way the kit looks and it's mojo, and I love that finish on that set,but if you thought you might want to sell it sooner and get 1200.00 1300.00 I don't know.

Maybe you should make non insulting offer,I think 1000.00 would pretty fair on both sides, IMO.

I'll bet the reason you never see them is because they were all bought by the japanese companys in the 60's to reverse engineer them in to pearl, stewart, star and whatever-else-they-were-calling-them stencil drumsets!Laughing H

If I am breaking any rules here someone please chime in....

I'm new to this site and I don't mean to hijack a post, but I have a similar set from '66 that I've always known as pink champagne sparkle. My dad bought them for me when I was 8 yrs. so I am the one and only owner. Dad passed away suddenly when I was 10.

I have had a very emotional attachment to this kit but since our move, I've finally come to the realization that I have to let go of them. Now at age 55 my wife and I have sold our house and are in the process of downsizing to a condo. Currently they are in climate controlled storage.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what they may be worth?

The only pieces I can not locate are the snare stand, and foot pedal for the kick drum. I thought they would turn up in the move but they didn't.

There are two 18'' and 12" & 14" hi-hat cymbals that will be included, plus the throne. The throne is the same vintage '66 but is a Ludwig.

The Kick drum is 14" x 18" Tom 9" x 13" Floor tom 14" X 14" Snare 5" x 14"

Any input is much appreciated.

Correct 18".

Dad didn't play, but loved Gene Krupa, that's why he got me the Slingy's.

I have additional pics which I can post later.

Thanks for the reply.

This kit is a stage band kit which was slingerlands answer to the club date kits Ludwig produced, The best thing to do is start your own thread on this kit, it needs it's own thread really!! also the (sizes) and color of the kit are very desirable the sizes are a big deal resale wise. normally this would of been a $800.00 or so kit but not yours!!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!
