It would be an executeable offense if you advertise the following on Craigslist:

1) Use the word "Symbol" or "Cymbol" to describe a cymbal.

2) Count the cymbals, stands, and the throne in how many piece drum kit you have.

3) Use the term "ready to play, just needs new heads" in an ad.

4) Try to sell your POS, Made in China drum kit for more than the MSRP.

5) Try and sell a POS student kit on Craigslist after you had rattlebombed it to death with horrid colours and try to pass it off as some great artist's drum kit.

Method of execution: honey would be poured upon a naked body and army ants set free to feast upon said body whilst still alive!!!

My number one pet peeve is either no pictures included in the ads and are available "to serious buyers" or pictures pasted from another site that show a new kit and the ad says "these are the same drums as mine." I typically pass right over ads without pictures. If they are too lazy to take the extra two minutes to post pictures, they probably haven't put too much TLC into whatever they are selling!

Early '90s is NOT vintage!!!! It's just old and outdated!!!!

On a somewhat related note, some cat on Flea bay was trying to sell a "1960's Premier floor tom" that had an '80s Yamaha/Premier badge on it. I tried several times to contact the seller and he simply ignored me. I don't know why people think they can still pull the wool over peoples' eyes, especially since you can search the internet for not long and figure out a drum's vintage.

It's just like when I was a kid- a drum kit from the '60s was simply an old kit. It wasn't as cool as the stuff with heavier hardware, etc. Now I am old enough that a '60s kit is vintage. I am still coming to grips with '70s and '80s stuff actually being vintage!!!

And "base" drum should result in a public stoning!!!!

Maybe a new execution method:

1) Make the lister in question listen to a drum student on said kit in a small room.

2) Have the student play along with Barry Manilow, but keep trying until the student gets it perfect.

3) Then the honey and army ants treatment!!!!

Worst EVER: "Make me an offer" with no price listed. After making an offer, the seller will simply use this as his base to get better offers. Thereafter, he'll come back to you for more $$$$. ****es me off to no end.

I hear ya brother. Vintage to me means: When I was young, which was not 1980.

I have used "make an offer" only when I have no clue as to what it's worth and will only use that in a forum. The "make an offer" method you describe is a wanker tactic.

Heck, kits from the late 70s aren't even "vintage". And no, Mr. Craigslistadposter, there's no such thing as a vintage Tama or CB drum kit, no matter how many people on craigslist list them...
