Here's the Ludwig keystone badge wmp kit I just bought. The 13 has a white interior, baseball bat muffler and no date. The 16 has a clear interior, round knob muffler and has a date of 1968.The 22 has a clear interior and a pre-serial number badge. For a pieced together kit they match perfectly, this is probably the cleanest I've ever owned.

Great looking set! Nice find. What I find interesting is the diversity of parts usage in drums from ostensibly the same period. I have a Super Classic set in WMP circa 1962/1963. Unfortunately there are no dates in any of the shells. The drums all have pre serial number badges. The toms are white in the inside with baseball bat mufflers. Like your bass drum, the interior of mine is also clear. However, my bass drum has the gull shaped folding spurs as seen in the catalogs in the '60s while yours seem to have the short disappearing spurs that were usually mounted on 18" drums I believe. Additionally, my tom mount is located between the lugs near the edge of the shell which I believe was pretty standard in the WFL days and continued at least into the early days of the rebranding back to Ludwig, and still appears in that location in the Super Classic photo in the 1962 catalog. In the 1964 catalog the mount is attached similarly to yours.

I've often thought that even though my shell has a pre serial number badge the fact that its has a clear interior and an older tom mount location might imply the shell itself may have been made earlier then the badge would suggest.

That's the place! I had initially called about another kit they had on their cl ad. This one just came in and was not listed. When the owner told me about this kit I jumped on it after seeing pictures.

Very nice, JR.

If you finally take it to a gig, change the bass drum cymbal bracket (yours seems to be the first version, a.k.a. P-1672) for an eye-bolt one (P-1216A). The first one is not so safe and tends to loose and cause a tragedy in the middle/end of a song.

I've been using it while I practice on my own, so far it's held up well.

I’ve put 22 heavy on my 64 wmp and it held up well as long as it’s tight

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
