Just wanted to relate an experience I shared recently.
I have been searching for a couple of very nice kits (RadioKing and a non-Slingy Jazzer). I had loaded up my drum account and me and the wife went shopping. I found what appeared to be a sweet Rogers jazzer online at Steve's site. It was a good price and included the snare. I called the wife over and we clicked for more information ... ready to push the Buy-It-Now button.
Doggone it. Someone had listed the kit incorrectly on the website. The snare was not included. We walked away from the computer ... and pouted. I called up Steve's and explained to an employee what I saw so they could correct the website data. I emailed Steve and let him know. Everyone was polite and very professional.
I thought that was the end of it ...
Steve contacted me and apologized. He also offered me the kit at a good price and worked with me to ensure that I could get as much of the extra bits (pedal, cymbal arm) that he had available. I was very touched. He worked and made sure I got the exact kit I was looking for.
It isn't often that we come across a retailer with as much compassion and ethics as what Steve Maxwell demonstrated with me. He impressed me and has earned my respect and admiration ... and my business in the future.
He's a drum friend.
