Hello there, folks.

You'll probably agree with me that the most sought after 60's Ludwig finish for a drum set and a wooden snare drum is Black Oyster Pearl (thanks uncle Richie). Said this I'm wondering if there's is more roguish, or dishonest, maybe picaresque attitude as for the description when one modified unit in this so desirable finish comes up for sale. Check out the link below, read the description of the 13"x9" tom and you'll see what I'm talking about.

What lefty with a healthy mind could drill two holes in a drum just because the badge should face the audience? I think the thing was: the 13"x9" and the 16"x16" (drums with closest serial numbers) are originally from a Hollywood outfit or maybe from a special order for leftys. Someone recently plugged the factory holes and made two new ones on the opposite side when get a bass drum with same year badge number from another set. Well, the description does not says this is a factory matched set but it incites us to think it really is, especially with that lefty story.

What is your opinion? Maybe I am too suspicious?
