the big "R" from Poland - ever seen?

Loading...

since some years I own this snare drum.

The sound is very heavy and massive. The quality is suprising well in case of an eastern european, to me unknown, supplier.

Nothing against e.g. Amti, I like´m, but there is a difference to the former Sonor, Ludwig, etc.

Why do I think, I would share this share with you?

First take a look at the Badge: from a distance you feel you got a Rogers snare :-)

Then you wanna pick the snare up - and: the snare is with 5,25 KG very heavy.

(Size 5,5 x 14)

I can´t find anything about this supllier "Royals" from Poland. I know the dutch one, but not from poland.

The lugs, strainer and but end are as well different to what I have ever seen.

Meanings?

I have seen one other drum of this name show up about three years ago. That one was a nice honey maple finish and looked very Rogers with its ROYALS badge.

I know nothing, however, about the company, dating origin, or construction of the drums.

Funny that someone who obviously took the trouble to build a good drum would rip off the badge...I mean it's not a typical MIJ/MIT student level drum. Didn't Sonor Hilite lugs resemble those? Maybe a small boutique assembly store? Like Al Drew music in R.I. had their own assembled Keller drum line.

What is the shell made of?

That is one of the most obvious badge/logo ripoffs I have ever seen.
