The best gig of my career

Loading...

Jam productions had 3 semi trailors of gear, the largest stage I ever saw and the technology for this event was beyond anything I ever saw, including 2 huge jumbo trons on either side of the stage, so people sitting 2 football fields from the stage could see, they even had PA systems every 2-300 feet so way in the back the sound was clear. I met John Aldridge and got a nice picture with him, and we killed the set we played, it was like playing at wood stock for me, I got to chat one on one with Bryan Hitt, he introduced me to his wife, and got to stand up stage left while they played their set, after all these years, REO still sounds as good as they ever did. It was the greatest gig I ever played, all good times.

This pic does not do justice to the size of this stage, you can;'t see the jumbo trons either in this pic, we didn't have a wide enough angle lens to capture them. for more pics and video face book Ovrevolt...cheers!!

Congratulations, brother. It must have been....I can't even imagine.A really good story for your grandkids.

There is a live youtube video of Gordon Lightfoot playing at an outdoor venue to what looks like one BILLION people-all alone-on a HUGE stage. The "big boys"do this stuff all the time. For a little guy like me-sheesh.

I have to admit slight envy-but in a really "happy for you"kind of way.I'm channelling right now-hmmmmmmmmmm-

Kudos to you and your band Slingerland!! So the question that lies before us is what pies did you bring to the gig? Curious minds want to know.

Cheers

Good onya, mate!!!!!

I notice you didn't mention the heat!!!!!

Sounds like you used the pies that were part of the sound in your head!!!! I would never contaminate my beautiful Paistes with Zillys, but I guess not everyone is like me. ;)

Good onya once again!!!!!

Yeah- I'm THAT guy!!!
