The '69 Walberg & Auge kit

Loading...

Played a show tonight on the newly refurbished Walbergs. Had a goal to get them done by tonight. Nice when a plan works out! Still looking to buy two badges.

Did they use Gretsch shells?

Thanks. I confess to not knowing what kind of shells. I just know they sound great. I've read here that W&A traded hardware for shells with American drum makers, right? How do you know what shells they are? People were asking what kind of wood the shells are. I don't even know.

Wow!! Nice rare set.W&A in 1969 would have used 6 ply maple shells with-out rings..Un-painted on the inside...So Yes they are Gretsch shells...Best way to know for sure is if you can post a photo of the inside of the shell and edge..Mikey

That is a great looking W&A set. It would be right at home with my W&A drum sets. I wish you lots of fun times with them.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Thanks everyone. I certainly did enjoy the experience of playing this set again. They did great on this jazz gig. Next week I will bring them on improv. rock hit. The sound man at the jazz gig kiddingly asked if he could put a hole in my bass head. I am seriously happy he was only kidding.
