Tenor drum as floor tom?

Loading...

From leedybdp

Here is a little drum set that I made out of Leedy and Slingerland orphans. The bass drum is a 70's Slingy 14x18 floor tom conversion. The small tom is a pre World War Two 7x11 tom that had a huge hole in the shell from a Sonor mount. The floor tom is a 12x16 tenor drum conversion from the 50's. I wrapped them in Rowlux 3-D floating bubble material. As fate would have it, I then found a 100% original 60's Camco Tuxedo lug snare drum in White 3-D Moire. The new wrap is pretty darn close to the old wrap. Check it out in the picture of the snare on top of the 12x16 drum. The sound from this tom is every bit as wonderful as a 16x16. Just find the heads and tensioning that work for you. Most of all, have fun with your project.

Good looking kit!!!!

I am 10,000% happy with my purchase!!! I can't wait to make my Olympic (by Premier) tenor drum match the rest of my mongrel Premier kit. She sounds KILLER!!!!

Thank you, bunnyman for clearing up the mystery. That's an honourable way to end up smelling like cotton candy!

Well- she was NAKED giving me a hug!!! And she gives BIG bear hugs!!! Guess it helps being a large bunny...
