Tax Sale! 1964 Rogers Mardi Gras 3-piece kit

Loading...

SOLD! And to a forum member! I couldn't be happier. The kit will be going to a good home and to one of my drum brothers!

Ok, I have two weeks to come up with -last years- property taxes so I'm doing what I have to do to raise the needed funds. I don't want to, I -have- to. I'm pulling a Willie Nelson so to speak.

For sale: 1964 Rogers Holiday Kit. 9" x 13", 16" x 16", 14" x 20"

The kit is -super rare- it is a Mardi Gras finish kit with Beavertails. The drums are strictly players as there have been some repairs to extra holes in the kit. The bass drum was drilled for a second mount which has been patched and filled. The rack tom had an extra hole from a second mount which also has been filled and plugged with mardi gras wrap. The wrap on the rack tom feels a little rough, but it looks great. (see photos) From 12" away, the repairs are invisible. Other than that, these are early 60's 3-ply Rogers drums that are highly prized by drummers and collectors. I hate to let these go, but go they must. Roof over head always has priority over drums in the basement.

$1250.00 - You pay shipping. (Or, make serious offer...)

Me too, Mike. It wasn't easy. I put the woodies up for sale - before I got desperate, then I pulled the woodies and put the Rogers on the block. The Rogers sold... but no surprise there. They're going to a good home, tax bill worries are off my mind and I like the person that's buying them, so it's all good.

It's a bitter sweet thing having to sell your drums to pay the tax man. At least you can relax a little knowing this is settled. You said these went to a member here and I know that makes you happy.

As long as I know they are going to another drummer who will appreciate tham as much as I do. it's all good. And yes, I'm much relieved to have the Sword of Damacles removed from over my head!
