Tama Titan Drum Throne

Can someone help me troubleshoot this issue: I can tighten the thumbscrew all the way on the spindle post, but when I lower onto the larger metal piece to lock the seat, it seems stripped, and the screw "wings" rotate but the threading does not. Any one have a replacement screw or know how to troubleshoot this?

So are you saying that when you try to secure the seat to the post, the "wings" on the pictured threaded screw spin but the threading doesn't move? If that's the case, it sounds like the wings have broken away from the threads.

Or, are you saying that the wing screw threads "normally" when going in and out of the seat by itself (with nothing in it) but then feels stripped when trying to tighten it to the throne base?

In either case, I would just get a replacement wing screw. I would assume this is 8mm? Tama 8mm wing screws are cheap and very easy to come by. You can always get an 8mm x 1.25 thread tap and "chase" the internal threads on the throne seat to clean them up and get rid of any worn spots.

I'm looking through my drum wrap website and I just happened to see a screw that looks exactly like the one you're talking about so I figured I'd throw you the link.
