This is a new one to me.Some of the parts are from later 70's, The tom mount has the ball type of "L" arm's Tama started that mount is about 1978.The lugs are from about the same year...

If you could post some photos of the edge's of the drums and a few of the inside shell. This would help pin point a year.

As far as i know Tama never used that finish on a RoyalStar set in the 70's.

Star made drums made by Tama before Tama was known as Tama in other word's Star badge drums were Tama drums. But that finish was out from about 1967 to maybe late 1970/

So your set could be a rewraped set maybe photos of the edges would tell me this....Mikey

This set makes no sense to me-early 70's RoyalStar spurs, late 70's-early 80's everything else.I also think the knurled BD hoops are early 70's.But the speckle paint interior...

This could be a Tama, but I've also seen a Bolero and a Star with the same wrap. I think it's either one of those brands with Tama badges and hardware installed. But I could be wrong.

I went to look into Tama catalogs and in the 1974 general catalog you can see the Tama Royalstar with the same hardware except for the t-rod. The wrap is called Pearl Fantasia.

Yes-"Fantasia Pearl" was made later than I thought.Everything looks right but the tom tree, which is an upgraded Imperialstar type.Rare color on a much newer set that usual.
