Tama Rockstar Pro Drums Video's

Loading...

Here's a couple short videos of the Tama Rockstar-Pro kit I just got.

I took most of the stands that came with the kit to a local drum shop and got over $125 in credit, so I got new Remo coated Ambassadors for all the toms and a smooth white Powerstroke for the kick.

I was surprised how good the drums sound considering they are basswood shells. They favor the low end, but in the second video I tuned them a little higher and they still sounded good, any higher and they started to get boingy, especially the floor tom.

It's definitely a rock kit and I'll mainly use it for bigger venues.

This is with the 13,16,22 and the Tama Artwood birch snare, thanks.

Use headphones responsible.

Nice looking kit. I love the color, and the playing isn't bad either!Cool1

Both tunings sound spot-on. I'm beginning to believe that almost any kit, regardless of the wood they are made with, that's in good shape, with good drum heads and good tuning can sound good.

Thanks, ya I agree, if a kit is well built the wood construction doesn't mean that much. I can tune this kit lower than my Leedy and get a better sound, but the Leedy sounds better pitched up higher. These older Rockstars were made very well in Japan, not like the newer Taiwan made kits.
