Tama power metal snare drum info

Loading...

I just recently picked up a 8x14 Tama power metal brass snare drum. It is in great shape but in need of a polishing. All original except for heads and the top hoop, which was replaced with a Pearl diecast. I know it is from the late 80s-early 90s. Can anyone tell me more about these drums? Any value to them? Thanks for any information.

Bobby

i have a 8 in power metal brass too excellent drum. If it is in really good shape you could expect 350 to 400 ish. Note there is a coating on that drum so if you polish it you need to reseal it with a brass sealer unless you want it to oxidize and tarnish. I striped the hardware off mine and polished mine with lemon juice and paiste cymbal cleaner using my bare hands to rub the mixture in and then i resealed it with a brass sealer.

regardless you should probably like that drum they sound fantastic especially in a rock setting

Thanks for the response. This one will need to be taken apart and polished too. It probably hasnt been cleaned since it left the factory.
