Tama Imperialstar King Beat

Loading...

Hi fellas,

I bought yet another King Beat, mid to late 70's. It's a 6.5" version and in pretty good condition except three details. The original batter die cast hoop has been replaced by a Might Hoop one, there's an extra hole in the shell which has been fitted with a bolt and locking nut (see picture), I didn't notice it in the photo's until I had it in my hands and last detail is that the screws that hold the rod that goes across the drum have been replaced with L-wrench screws. Here are 2 pics from the auction.

Do you guys think it was worth it? Thanks.

Looks good! These are great sounding snares! I have one myself! You should get the die cast rim...she needs it:-)

What did you pay for it?

I agree on the die-cast part, the sound is so much better with it. An easy fix, hoops like that can be found. Beyond that... if it sounds good and you like it, why is it a bad buy?? :) I see guys buying old drums with holes, peeling, splits, dents, scuffs... all kinds of problems, you name it. They fix them as best they can and it's fine. Why is it OK for an old Jazz Fest to have a couple of extra holes and it's not OK for your drum?? :) Just my 2 cents...

145$ is a very good price, i saw them on the US market from 280$ up to 400$, so you get a good deal i thinkYes Sir

I agree with Alex about that tiny little hole:-)
