TAMA Fibrestar Kit start of the restoration!

Loading...

Hy guys,

i just scored that very seldom TAMA Fibrestar. It´s the forgotten series from Tama 70s/80s.

It has 8 mounted toms one 18" Floortom and 2 pieces of 24"bassdrums.

I trade it for an old TAMA Swingstar i restored!

i am sure this will be fun to restore even when it will take quite a whileYes Sir

All the stands and hardware are with it, the former owner was tired of doing the job to re-wrap and clean it. He just want a Set to play - so we made this trade.

I will keep you guys informed how the restoration goes along.

best regards

Christian

Cool! What are your plans about wrapping?

Are you gonna keep it as one set? Or make two sets of it?

So...i started with giving the lugs(and they are a lot:-)) a good soak in a dawn bath. They turned out very well as you can see on the pics.

Then i cleaned the 6"-8" and 10" Rims and the bracket for these three toms:-)

I decided to go with a very crazy color...as you can see on the pics. Three Toms are finished by now...but there is a lot more to do:-)

I`ll keep you guys informed how it goes along:-)

Before you cover the rest of the drums, could I please see a pic of a naked shell? These are Fiberglass right?

I would like to see the natural color and texture of a sanded shell.

Thank You

Great Project. lots of drums!!!!
