Swiv-O-Matic Bass Pedal Assembly & Bearing Upgrade

Loading...

Greetings everyone!

I just created an album that photo-documents my experience upgrading the bearings in my Swiv-O-Matic bass pedal, along with a complete tear-down, clean-up and reassembly. Here's a link to the album: http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/album.php?albumid=209

Please have a look and let me know what you think. Thanks!

Deep groove single race/row sealed bearings are better, longer lasting, quieter.

Great info. I'm currently looking for a later-model Swivo (with the lever-operated hoop clamp) and first thing I plan to do when I get one is replace the bushings it surely will have with proper bearings... this will come in very handy!

This is some great detailed info with pics ! I own one of these pedals that came with a Rogers Cleveland Holiday kit I have. This will make a fun day project sometime to tear it apart and do some maintenance with the help of your great tutorial. Thanks for sharing !
