Supraphonic etched serial no.??

Loading...

Hello, another supra question......

I bought a 5x14 yesterday. I don't have pics yet.

While inspecting the drum I noticed:

Ludalloy sticker

round screw type muffler

10 lugs

pitting in chrome

what I believe is the pointy 70's era badge (however the throw off has only two holes for the snare cord so maybe it is an 80s badge)

What I found odd was the serial # was not stamped. It appears to be hand written or etched. The number 200 is hand etched at the far left of the space for the serial number.

Is there anything note-worthy about this? Do you suppose that this is a replacement badge?? I admit I don't know much about Ludwigs but I am very interested in learning

Any info or links would be appreciated.

My guess is that it was some type of personal inventory or something from a previous owner. I have never heard or seen anything like this.

I picture might shed some light on this.
