I'm trying to positively identify the model of a Slingerland Radio King snare drum. Based on the research I've done, I believe it dates back to the 1940s.
The drum's in a 14 x 8 configuration, with 16 Super Streamlined lugs, a Super (Clamshell) strainer, and an aluminum Slingerland Chicago cloud badge with maroon trim. The batter side rim is engraved with "Slingerland Radio King."
I believe that this particular model was known as the "Super Radio King" and that this particular badge reflects production somewhere in the 1945 - 1946 time period.
If anyone can validate this information, it would be greatly appreciated.
I'm also trying to determine the make up of the shell. I've asked the Web Master to post a pic of the interior of the shell that I just took this evening. Any and all additional information would be GREATLY appreciated.
THANKS in advance for your help!
