Well, didn't have my hopes up from the pictures from the ad, but I could tell the guy wanted to get rid of them and wasn't a drummer. Upon arrival, the "barn" was an old shop full of cars, mowers TV's, etc. Right to the drums. First I saw the Ludwig floor tom(not in pictures on CL add), then looked over and saw the rest.
Here's the score:
5x14 Rogers COB Dynasonic - mid 70's, frame is there, just needs heads and a good cleaning. Muffler present, a little rust, perhaps an 8 out of 10 when done.
The Ludwigs
20x14 BD, 12x8 Tom, 16x16 FT
Not sure what configuration, but the 12" is date stamped Sept. 8 1965(or 66). White interiors. Leg mounts there, all screws, tension washers top and bottom, both wood hoops and all claws hooks both sides, BD cymbal mount(no arm). Now the bad - no badges, shells are spray painted black w/ minor overspray inside shells. Tom mount replaced(same holes though). BD top ply is starting to delaminate. BD tom mount gone w/ 4 extra holes.
The Zildjians - 22" ride, 18" crash, hollow logo's underneath, 70's I guess, o cracks or keyholing.
There is a 70's Rogers pedal, and trashed hardware stands, as well as a 13" import tom, and a Tama Swingstar FT, and 1 Tama boom stand. Most of this is junk.
But for $300, I couldn't resist! The Dyna is worth almost that.
I'm not sure what to do about the delamination of the shell, but I think it's fixable. I can strip the shells, no problem.
So, it looks like I have a project on my hands. Any input on the kit is appreciated. Looks like I'd need a BD tom mount, (3) Keystone badges/grommets, a tom mount, cymbal arm for the BD, and a lot of work. Once done though, I think a nice mid 60's Ludwig kit!
Pics coming!
