By 1963, I think the Student Model RK was listed as the Student Model Snare Drum

WOW!
You are really coming up with some special drums there, Kev. This one's a Beaut! I love those hoops and those little hoopty-grabbers. Dang nice. Outstanding work. Again, respect.
Thanks Mcjnic!!
Didn't even have to "snipe" to get it!! ( "Best Offered" it )
That was nice of you...;) And a very nice catch!

Thanks Jonnistix, I truly value your views and expertise around here!!
Cool Dude
You can see the whole flesh hoops exposed - they don't inset into the rims and that gives the drum a cool look. The early plastic I have have wide hoops like that too, look like wide whitewall tires.
Nice to see a vintage drum without Remo aluminum hoops.

AMEN!!! Ya gotta love that old school look and feel of that drum. Very sweet. I was never drawn to the Duco's because of the delicate nature of the finish (I'm a bit clumsy). However ... I saw a gold/black on ebay and now this one. I'm starting to "get it". Pretty cool drums.
