Strangest strainer....

OK, today my "win" from Goodwill arrived. I did not recognize the strainer in the pix and assumed it was just another MIJ strainer. Well, here it is, and it is a doozie...

No throw arm, and appears no place for one, and on top of it all, looks like a Rogers Clockface.

Looks like a Rogers, but without the imprint.

That really is a dead ringer for a rogers throw. The arm goes behind everything that is all I know. Don't know exactly how it attaches I'm sure someone else does.

Although John don't you have that dynasonic to check the throw-off against?

I do, however this is a multi part strainer with a removable back plate, unlike my Dyna strainer and it is just not exactly the same thing. I am thinking it may be a candidate for a switch out until I can figure it out.

Hey John,I have seen that strainer before, iam trying to recall how the handle goes onto the strainer,if i recall right in your last photo of the strainer the piece at the far right should come apart un-screw the knob, and the piece of the strainer that the knob screws into should have a hook like piece of metal that the handle would screw into, the handle is a small rounded one....Mikey

I think I'll re-fit this drum. It sounds like ass anyway. Thin poplar shell, with verticle grain. This one is a thin 5 ply, no rings, and is not mahog. One would think it might sound pretty good, but nooo...it sounds like a good ol' POS right now. I have a couple of stainers I will try oput on here...now where's that drill....

I also appreciate the classic example of Japanese reverse engineering on the snare throw (Rogers). If not the functionality of a Rogers, they definitely have the basic shape of it down!
