Strange Zildjian Cymbal

Loading...

I came across a strange zildjian cymbal. I believe it is a 16". Any idea about the "HQZ" stamp?

It must be one of those exceedingly rare, and highly sought after "HQZ" Zildjian variants. Worth more than any old stamp K.

Where in heaven's name did you find it?!?!

I found it for sale locally. Do you have any info about this variant?

Seriously, yes I do. It's called somebody's initials.

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I agree, those are aftermarket engravings. That being said, someone did a very good job with it. A little large maybe, but there is no argument on who the cymbal belongs (or belonged) to.

Also doesn't look pro-level. Looks like a worn ZBT to me.

Yes I agree. Somebody did a real fine job of defacing that cymbal and lowering what little value it already had. (and that's sarcasm in case somebody fails to recognize it.)
