17" ....they tend to be rather large in diameter.
ProMark makes a few in 17", I think the smallest one is a 2S.
Vid Firth Metal, Abe Laboriel and Ted Atkatz models, additionally their marching line-up has many 17".
They're out there... also somebody here was offering to make custom sticks, so I would do a search for that thread and follow the links to the company (they were priced pretty well too).
That Isn't Unusual as Hoppy has already stated! Having some vintage sticks from the 30's etc, from that time period they are usually in the 5" + range, they have gotten longer over time!
Have you seen Alex Van Halen's Regal Tip model? That may even be 17.25". Also I suppose there must be long drum corps-style sticks from every manufacturer.
Regal Tip's Alex Van Halen signature stick is 17 3/4". Their Metal X and Chester Thompson models are 17".
For what you're describing... I'd probably go with the Chester Thompson stick.
Thank's Guys I'm going with the chester thompson model and maybe grab a pair of alex van model for my self.Cool1
