Strange Place for a seam?

Loading...

I am looking for a 5 piece set to buy and this one looks pretty sweet.

However, the seam on the bass drum wrap looks like it's in the wrong place. Didn't they usually put the seam in the bottom center? Scroll down to pics 4 and 5.

KD, the wrap is not long enough to go all the way around, therefore it is two pieces. One is centered on the bottom, the longer top part is laid over and laps the other two ends. Most wrap is 54" long max, so to wrap a 22 that is 75 inches, ,more or less including overlaps. Any wrap over a 16 inch tom is done in 2 pieces.

That's all true Jonnie, but in this case the short wrap is not "centered" on the bottom. You can't see the right (players) side seam, and I think usually both seams are below the spur area, not halfway like this one on the left side.

Or am I completely wrong....

Thanks guys.

I was the high bidder but the reserve was not met. I asked the seller if he wants to sell for my bid but I have not heard back yet.

I'm not an absolute purist but I am kind of against re-wraps because all of them I have seen lift at the seams in a short time and start coming apart.

Thanks again for the input.
