Strange kit ID

Loading...

Hi all,

I've received a message from Ukraine today.

Hard to ID an interesting noname set with not nailed home-putted Premier badges.

To me it looks as end 70's - mid 80's MIJ mix of Tama-Pearl stencil or MIT kit with Slinger's style lugs. Sizes are also strange---13"-14"-15"-22". All toms are concert --- no any previous drilled holes for lugs on resonant sides; very good rerings and S-hoops. Toms holder looks as Tama. Snare is AMATI with Slinger's style lugs. Stands are AMATI; snare stand is EPOIMI (Luddy atlas/hercules).

Any ideas?

Hi George; That tom holder is a re-worked Tama, I think. I've got one very similar to it labeled 'Tama', but the post isn't that long.

The whole kit is kinda weird... finding all those concert toms... the interior of the drums look quality to me, either that or well finished MIJ. I've never seen a stencil kit with interiors like that. Maybe the guy had a bunch of Premier badges laying around! :)
