Hello,

somewhere in Bavaria i found this old Hoshino-Acryl Drumset. I have never seen such a finish before. Has anyone an idea, when it was built and how much of these sets were availaible? only this colour?

I have only two toms 12, 13 and a Bassdrum and i am interested to complete it with a Floortom. So if someone wants to sell.....

Thank you for your tips and ideas

Manuel

Well,sir-good luck with that.I have been around drums and drum stores since the early 70's and have never seen anything like that.I HAVE seen acrylic lampshades with a similar design, but in brown.Seems like when you THOUGHT you'd seen it all,you haven't!Burger Kin

Absolutely unique ! They must be beautiful w/ good backlighting. Do the designs come from an internal applique or are they embedded in the acrylic ?

wow! I'm hypnotized by the strange beauty of this kit! Reminds me of those weird Meazzi/Wooding acrylic frosted looking kits. Hopefully somewhere in Bavaria there is a person with your floor tom! Good luck!

Seems like the floor tom is the hardest piece to find for regular kits, I cant imagine what it will take to find yours. They are very different indeed, good luck to you and if I ever see anything like that, you will be the first to know.

Thank you!

Hi, the design is a kind is embedded inside the shell, you can feel it like a relief. the outside surface of the shell is smooth.

hi, thats right. it reminds of the wooding sets,. I have one in orange. but this strange hoshino is a little bit different. The relief-structure of the Wooding-kits is outside the shell. This Hoshino relief is inside the shell.

Yes, I hope to find this lonesome person with the floortom in bavaria again.

First of all: Welcome Sir!

(Normally the members here start with that set phrase DOH - but in this case the extraordinary finish may have overwhelmed them so they forgot to start with this.) :D

It's nice to have you here, Manuel.

The finish is so unique (... and ugly ... Sumo Dude) that, if someone ever happens to come across the matching floor tom, he'll remember your post.
