I googled blue vistalite 10,000 reward....

If I followed the thread on the other forum correctly this whole post is a weird variant of the money order Craigslist scam... so some deal is reached about blue Vistalite drums, the thief gives you a $10,000 money order plus $500 extra in that money order and asks you give that extra in cash to a third party for shipping or something.

Days later when the bank discovers the money order you cashed is fraudulent, you are left on the hook for all the money the bank gave you when you cashed the fraudulent money order.... so you might still have the $10,000 but that $500 extra you gave to the third party is gone... and so are any drums that changed hands..

If I read it correctly....

Not a Guru... just interested..

Dear Mr. Friman,

Hello my name is Sergeant Murray, I work directly for Captain Conforti at the 112th Precinct. I am contacting you in regards to the Drum Set that you wish to have added to you complaint report. In order for this to be done I need more information regarding the incident since you do not have the report number. If you can assist me with the incident date, time, place of occurrence, if any other names where listed on the report, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, please let me know if this is the best way to contact you. Any questions please call my office, 718-520-9211/9218.

Thank You,

Sgt. Murray

Dear Sergeant Murray,

Today I requested the complaint report number and a copy of the report that I filed on April 6, 1987 at the Queens County District Attorney's Office, which I will forward to you immediately upon receipt. Even though their prosecution grew cold, if you could still please enter my Drum Set into your database it would greatly assist me to recover it in the likely event this collectors item turns up somewhere or someone tries to resell it. I have proof of ownership in the form of original store receipts with serial numbers and photos. The place of occurrence was 113-14 72nd Rd, Forest Hills NY 11375. The other names listed on the report were Diane Friedman and Andrew Friedman. Thank you for your assistance,

Paul Friman

Dear Mr. Friman,

Thank you for the information regarding your complaint. Since the incident occurred in 1987 our computers will not have any record of the crime. Once you do receive the complaint report number you can forward the information to me and I will check our records room. Since the case is dated back over 20 years we may not have any record of it here at the 112th Precinct. If this should happen you might have to reach out to 1 Police Plaza. Please keep me updated.

Thank You,

Sgt. Murray

Nice try but,you don't file complaint reports at the county DA's office. They can only be filed with a police officer, at a police pct,or with a responding radio car police officer in the case of a burglary.

Sergeants don't work directly for Pct.Commanders.It's easy enough to do a google search to find out who a Pct. commanding officer is.

The reasearch would be handled by a pct PAA which is a civilian police administrative aide, not a sergeant that makes over 95 K a year.

In any event, the original date of occurance supposedly was April 6,1987?You wanted to add the missing drum set on Oct. of 2012?Did you just discover it was missing from your condo after 26 years?

The statute of limitations in NY State is 5 years on all crimes but homicide.

The complaint report if it ever existed, would be at the Dept.records storage facility,NOT 1 Police Plaza.

And yes I know this for a fact having been a member of the service(NYPD) for over 20 years

Case closed ........

BUSTED!!! Jump For Joy

Instead of 10 grand, we're talking 10 scam here. Well, that's not nice, but I can be helpful...

pfriman; flake off (I wanted to use a different verb, other than flake, but...) and please don't let the door bludgeon you on the way out [sarc]. BTW: I do have a suggestion for a real job. Have you ever tried juggling chainsaws? Please do!

Ten Grand reward for a drumset that is worth at most $3000? Who would fall for that?
