Hi everyone,

there's a Ludwig snare on ebay with bad flaking of the stiplegold. Can it be saved and/or stopped from further damage?

thanks,

larry

Stipplegold is a lacquer, & one runs into a problem of stopping lacquer flaking..., if you overspray it w/ clear lacquer to bind it, you now have the problem of an unoriginal finish. It would probably be best to leave it as is, & keep it as original as possible. Relatively speaking, this drum is not in that bad of shape.
