I just found this website and have been very impressed with all the great info. I've been playing set and hand perc since the 50s and....stillplaying.
I have a few pieces from my college days that I don't use and I am considering selling. After combing through this site, I still an not sure if I have something old, or vintage.
I have a Valje conga I bought from Jerry Steinholtz back in 82'. It is a beautiful clear oak/lacquer finish with no cracks or splits. It is 30 7/8" tall, and no stamps or dates on it. The Valje sticker on the rim says 3312 Sunset Blvd. L.A. I read on this site that the inside has circular scoring at the inside midline that helps confirm the early date. It really is very clean, no rust or pits or scratches. Any idea what this is worth out there?
Stillplaying!
