That is one of the rarest of the Star wraps, called Lava Pearl, and you might offer him a bit less due to missing parts. I would look over the edges as well to use that as another point in price reduction, but man, anytime those come up for sale they don't last long. If you got it to spare, grab them. They will only go up as it is a rare wrap.

I was told by someone that looked into this kit that there was water damage to the bass and the snare isn't original to the kit...It has been up for sale on and off for a year or so with no takers. Just an FYI....

Man, I'm glad I'm not in love with that wrap, 'cause this kind of a fixer-upper is definitely in my wheelhouse.

But even with that wrap, I gotta say the asking price is too high. Missing rims on the toms, to me, is not that big a deal. But missing the bass drum hoop, with the matching inlay, is kind of a deal breaker. Plus the usual, "what's with these t-rods/inserts??? they aren't standard sizes!" debacle. And, of course, the strainer is missing the arm...

Ehh, even with that wrap, to me, that's a $150 set. Tops. But if someone else is in love with the wrap, I cant account for that. It would need work, for sure.

A few years back, I "won" an MIJ snare drum on eBay with this same wrap. Just thought it was cool and wanted to add it to my collection. Got it for cheap and paid for it. The seller never sent it to me and I was never able to make contact with this person again. Months later, the same drum was up for sale under a different seller. I explained that this was the same snare I had won. Turns out it was being offered for sale by a family member of the original seller! They promised to end the auction and send the drum to me. Never happened! As Joni says, this wrap is rare. Would have been cool to have that snare drum. I was a bit ticked at the time, but drumming life goes on!

^^Agreed. I understand the rarity of the wrap, but I guess this is where personal opinion comes into play. I wouldn't pay more than $100. Kellyj--I like your Bollero's much more than these.

You're right. Rare butt ugly. Great for a garage band as long as they stay in the garage with it...The ludwig version of this wrap is a different story of course.
