Stewart Gold Sparkle, Rectangular Badge (new member)

Hi all-

New forum member here....

Just picked up a 14x4 snare and 20x14 kick Gold Sparkle by Stewart, or one of the Stewart Companies. Just reaching out to anyone with any history or info. The shells are in awesome condition, no pitting or scratches however used and weathered they seem to be. Hardware is rough.

The badges are black rectangular textured plastic, and I've only come across it once in my brief research here and elsewhere. Also, the snare wires could be original based on the old Pearl logo on them, but just a guess based on the look. I will post pics for any feedback. And Will post more pics of the snare and bass when time allows. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Yours appears to be a Pearl drum, (have had Stewarts From Pearl, Star, and Hoshino) judging from hardware. I'd place it right about 1970, give or take - 60s style lugs, though damper knob, and strainer appear to be slightly newer, (Battleship lug era) as well as flanged hoops, rather than 'stick saver' style.. 3 ply with re-rings, or thicker shell, (painted?)?

I agree with the above post. Definitely a Pearl made drum. Judging by the badge, I would also date it somewhere around the early-mid 70s, though that lug design was used as early as 1968, I think.

Hi, and welcome! Very nice drums. I had a Stewart kit a couple years ago in a aqua blue sparkle. I sold them and regret it ever since, so hang on to them!

I bet the aqua blue was nice! I plan on keeping them and building a kit for my 3 year old son in the future. Hopefully his interest in daddy's drums grows with his age!
