Member Popsoldskins has a 22" 3 ply in champ that is a very nice bass, shell only. Keep an eye on C/L or the bay, grab a 3 ply if possible. The 9 ply shells sound kind of high to me. The 3s have a serious thump going on. Also, right now instore at G/C they are running a special for coated Aquarians and Evans for less than 10 each. The Aquarian is on my Apollo, got it today and it sounds great! It is an "X-100 Coated" what is stamped on the edge. Very nice on a wood drum. I will be picking up the Evans Monday to do a comparison, and I also have an Amby on the way, so this one drum will get three heads to work out next week.
