love Gadd's playing. I think he was a national rudimental champion. I remember reading that somewhere.

He was in the Navy too, or another branch perhaps. I saw a vid of him from WAY back that someone posted either here or on DFO. Black and white, I think.....

There is something about Gadd that is almost magical. Check out this Buddy Rich video. To me Buddy is like the exact opposite of Gadd. Buddy pounds it out. I often find myself saying "how did he do that" when I watch Buddy Rich as where when I watch Gadd I say "man that guy is smooth, how come the drum doesn't make that sound when I hit it"
