amosguy! Thanks for following up on this. Bottom line is that it appears to be a well made drum with good shell and parts.

Much thanks! Clears up a lot of the mystery.
The Taye MetalWorks Snare Drum Series is dedicated to the production of high-quality metal shell snare drums at competitive prices - offering unsurpassed value and the best choice of metal snare drums currently on the market. Just too much tone for me. I put a Remo Black X head on it, tuned it, stuck a moon gel on it, and it sounded terrific. Very high ceiling with this snare as it's very versatile and can be highly adjusted to fit different styles and sounds.

How does this relate to Sterling Percussion? Am I missing something here or is this just a plug for Taye drums?

Greetings all. I just bought a 10/12/15/20/14 Sterling kit in blue sparkle, thought it was Garcia's, spoke to him and got same story. Sent PM to OP and putting out the call for info again.
Googled a bit. The maker is Gary Pelfrey who posts as Gdrum88. I found his email and will try to reach him although Garcia thinks he is dead. Below is a Sterling wood hooped, wood lugged snare.
