I wouldnt go too crazy about any set with Old Luan shells.
The Luan shells get Much more fragile and brittle with age...the oils drying out does NOT help the shell, it hurts it. If you drop that shell from 5 feet, it will crack in two. Sometimes when you tune a head on an old luan shell, just tuning it will crack the shell from the tension. no thank you!
As for the Kents, they are worth about what a MIJ set is worth and not much more. They really arent very good drums, sorry to say. Most of them have horrendous bearing edges. I'm also not crazy about the way the glued their plies together. I've owned several of them, and the snare drums will just drive you CRAZY trying to tune them to sound like anything.
