Starting my first Ludwig project... I'm excited!

...The wrap repair is what is scaring the crap out of me... Chris said to CAREFULLY take loose the full edge.. CAREFULLY lift it, clean it, contact cement it and put it back down. If I crack it I'm screwed.. so that is freaking me out a little...

Jim, this is what I was talking about when I mentioned the wrap being "brittle." Probably the best and most important advice I can give you is to move carefully, cautiously, and very slowly. Patience more than anything else is the key. I've had 'em where the whole seem came up easily, and I've also had 'em where there was no way. So, in the case of the latter you just force in the glue, and clamp! (Don't forget the painter's tape!)

Good luck!

Bill has given you some great advice. One tip that I believe I heard from Purdie Shuffle is to use playing cards, taped along the perimeter of the shell to help for them bearing edge fill material.

I'm sure this has been posted before but I'm going to get lazy and ask again.. all the leg mounts and BD spur mounts on the kit have wing nuts... the shell mount cymbal mount and the mount on the high tom have hex nuts.

Should they all be wing nuts??

Not a Guru... just interested..
