I'm not sure but, is that a Star with inside rings?
Anyway, help is welcome
Some STAR's indeed had three re-rings inside. But this is not a STAR one:
- The bowing on the lugs is too 'flat' and wide.
- Star never used that type of bass drum backets with the L-wing-screws.
- STAR never used this type of an L-tom-arm (although it could be a later replacement).
- The tom bracket also seems to be not STAR-like.

See my early 60s Star kit in the gallery, MIJ at Sunset http://vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=12787&highlight=sunset . These are early Star stencils from the US stock. This kit can be jazzed into a hot-rod as I did for very little money.
Sorry, jonnistix: unless you clarify WHY this drumset is definitely being made by Star, I still have strong doubts (as mentioned/ declared above).

Hay Ralf,
John (jonnistix) might have been referring to his own and not the one in question by the OP.

Gentlemen, maybe the 4th picture of the first post here can give us a clue. If you look closely at the vent hole on the bass drum, you can see a faint circle in the wrap where the badge was, and it looks as though the badge had an off-set vent hole design. I know that Tempro (Pearl) used a similar design, but Star may have as well. See below.
Ralf, did the Royal Star badge have an off set design like this?

No. (Offset: yes, as e.g. for 'Bollero', but not at round badges).
Well, I think that Kenwood nailed it. I thought that the cymbal arm on the bd could be very similar to Tromsa's floor tom brackets for the legs, but Kenwood's 'Olympian' bd has it all in the same manner.
