I have just bought these from ebay for £13.00 not sure if thats a deal or ive been stung. I have no problems in replacing heads as ive wrapped many calf skin bongos and congas. I have added a pic from 1972 Tama brochure, a pro set 2 tone wood. I must admit once cleaned up and re skinned they are gonna sound and look great.
Star vintage bongos coooooooool
nice, and a good price I'd say. I haven't seen that style before. I have a set in the other cataloged style
Good find!!! I have two sets myself. My most recent acquisition is in mint condition! A little tung oil will brighten up the shells like new. Have fun!

These seem to be made of blocks and some have been made with plied shells. Once i receive them i can have a proper look.....sean

P.S. I was fantastically lucky this past summer in that I found a Star conga in excellent shape to add to my collection. Even had the original calfskin head.
