Hello,
I shortly acquired a Star kit including a metal snare drum with the no.940 snare strainer.
Maybe it was assembled false before as well, but the mounting I have done makes no sense: the spring doesn't effect the lever 'On-Off'-position and the lever doesn't really fix neither in the 'snares ON' nor in the 'Snares Off' position.
Furtheron the strainer is too close to the rim so that the connecting ribbon between wires and strainer builds up an almost 90 ° angle.
Attached please find the respective part. Declaration:
1 = long adjustment screw,
2 = lever (with the extension part showing in direction to the shell - but could also be mounted vice versa?),
3 = two small fixing square nuts,
4 = spring (is it on the correct side of the lever?),
5 = hexagonal screw (fixing the casing to the shell) and
6 = counter nut (inside of the shell).
Can anyone help with the sequence of the parts in the casing (drawing is not true to scale for the casing)?
Is anything missing? Thanks for clarification!
Cheers, Ralf
