Mark!

Love the MIJ stuff! ... and looks like you have a nice collection of 'em too! Another BEAUTY right here! How many MIJ snare drums total in your collection at this point?

Tommyp! ... Thanks for the compliments! Current count is 16 MIJ snare drums, all from the 60's and very early 70's. My oldest is a 1961 Star RK copy. The catalog even called the hoops "Rim-Shots". Includes 3-point strainer, extended bridges, dual-pad muffler and Slingerland-style lugs. Only appeared in one catalog, probably because Slingerland found out about it and threatened to sue!

I need to take some nice outside pictures of all these snare drums and post them!

Satin flame is very classy...Love it. I found a supplier near me that carries 10 different colors. When i get bored, i re-wrap old shells and give them a whole new meaning.

Keep fixing them up...

WOW! ... I have never seen one quite like this one! Slingerland COPY to the maximum! VERY, VERY, COOL!!! Yes ... you need to take a pic of your ENTIRE MIJ snare drum collection. That would be awesome!

Beautiful, Mark! What a find! I had an entire set in red satin flame but, it was ripped to shreds. This kit had to be re-wrapped and now serves as the basis of my big ol' turquoise sparkle kit I gig with!

Drumfx, if you don’t mind me asking, who’s your supplier and do they ship? I really like that yellow and that blue wrap, and think a flame would go well on my new-ish Tama shells that all the color has bleached out of the sparkle.

Hello Mark,

A really cool wrap in great condition, which is not common for it.

Cheers, Ralf
