Stamp/signature on k zildjian vintage

I really don't think that's going to help him any.

I'll give you a hint.....and apparently nobody else noticed this:

In the first example "Zildjian" is upside-down.

yes! its upside down, and i cant find any stamps on the net that looks the same...

And there's a very good reason for that. It's because they aren't there to be found.

But I'll be sending you a private message shortly. Then you will know exactly what you have there.

Just do me a favor and don't post any of the results here. I don't like helping others to construct their own half-baked versions the cymbal trademark timeline by using information that I alone worked to develop. And without making any mention of my name being as being the originator and sole researcher of this information either.

I'll be much less free with giving out this type of information in the future.

well, now i have bought them for 784 us dollar. i dont know if thats a fair price, but i didnt get alot of value answers here... but, he is happy about it, and im happy about it, so i think it went good:) If someone of u think i have "ripped him off" i can tell u, that i could easly paid him 100 dollar for all cymbals...

Wait....do I understand this correctly ?

$784 you paid for all 3 old K's and one '40's A ? I assume this is what you mean.

THAT is a near-absurd price, actually. Those are old-stamp K's...the most valuable ones on the planet. And a pre-transition-stamp A. That is also rare.

The 20 alone was worth significantly more than $784...even a lowball price puts it at $900. So throw in the 16, 15, 14 at, for argument's sake...$200, $200, and $100 again.....

$1200 would have been a very LOW price to pay for those four......$1000 would have been an INCREDIBLE price to get those for.

Current market value on those would have been about $1400-1600.....

I dunno, Avedis....

"I didn't get a lot of value answers here".....

Maybe I am missing something....because reading this thread...it looks like you did get value answers. Particuarly from me and jcymbal (who even provided links)...no ?

That was a very, very...very... low price you took those for, really.

But if you think that "I could have easily paid $100 for all of them" is a reasonable justification for basically getting 4 old Zildjians for LESS than half-price....then there's not much point arguing with that sort of rationale....

and you can congratulate yourself for such a great acquisition....

Personally, I would have offered at least $100-150 more....even that being low.

I say enough already! Do we really know all the facts? Maybe the old guy wanted him to have the cymbals. Maybe the old guy didn't need the cash. Maybe Avedis offered him all he had. The dude got a deal, aren't we all looking for a deal? Don't we all want to find the perfect kit at a garage sale or a great old snare at the salvation army store for next to nothing? I don't think these cymbals were the old guy's grandfathers. If he was a drummer than he knew what he had. If he wasn't a drummer than where did he get the cymbals? Just my two cents.

Im sorry again!!!! :( If i had known that so much talk came out of buying these, i wouldnt have bought them at all... BUT, as said, this was a friend of my grandpa, and he wanted ME to have these cymbals. and YES, he told me that they were VERY valuble...

I don't think that you need to be sorry....not again or ever for that matter. The old guy wanted you to have them, and he was happy with the money that he got and probably didn't mind that you got a good deal since he's a friend of your relative. You're happy with the deal because you got some nice cymbals for a good price. He's happy with the amount that he got. I don't think even for a minute that there was any intent to defraud here, and I think that those who are trying to stand in judgment here should back off. Now finally in the end both parties are satisfied with the outcome....end of story.

So as the old saying goes: "All's well that ends well."

Congratulations on your purchase.

Avedis - great score!!! Sorry that you came here looking for info, and ended up being judged. And good for you for doing a little research, and for giving the nice man much more money that most would have. Enjoy the cymbals!
