Finally achieved a longstanding goal of getting one Ludwig Standard snare in each of the available Strata wraps. Ruby and Blue were easy enough to find, Gold and Lemon came with sets I bought. Avocado is pretty rare but oddly Bronze was the hardest to find. Finally snagged one last week so here are all six strata colors.

From top to bottom

Avocado

Ruby

Lemon

Gold

Bronze

Blue

Are they all 5" deep?

Did the Standards come in a 6.5 depth?

That is the greatest stack of snares I have seen in a long time.

All 5" depth. These are essentially Jazz Festivals with different badges, wrap, and lugs (everything else is the same between the two models).

They made a chrome and aluminum (same shell minus the plating) model snare but no 6.5" models in the Standard line. They did do 6.5" Rockers later on with those same lugs but those used a different type of shell.

Well done Kevin. I too had been looking out trying to help you find that last one. In the process i got schooled on the sometimes confusing differences between the bronze and the gold. They look great! Now on to the next conquest.

Took a couple of years but a Bronze one finally turned up on ebay last week. It was listed as Gold Strata but I could tell it was Bronze due to the lack of any significant white/silver areas. Still I wasn't 100% sure I definitely had a Bronze Strata snare until I pulled it out of the shipping box this past Friday.

I had expected that Avocado would be the impossible one to find but this one surfaced at my local Music Go Round. Lemon is also a toughy (although apparently a bit more common than Avocado or Bronze). I've only seen one on ebay in the past several months. I got mine with a set so that worked out well for me.

Lemon is my favorite but they are all mighty cool.

Glad you were able to complete the collection. Must have been a very happy moment opening the box. Thanks for the pic and story.
