St George Hollywood MIJ kit

Loading...

My singer had these sitting in his garage for an unknown number of years and gave them to me to fix up. I re-cut the edges and polished them up the best I could and they sound incredible. I later added a MIJ floor tom of unknown origin but with matching wrap to make it a "full" kit.

Cool little kit!

I had a Stewart drumset in red parole berry simular.

It's a good thing those were stored with both heads on. The shells aren't very strong.

I'd suggest keeping the front hoop on the bass drum with the head cut just an inch from the edge if you want an open sound. It will help keep that bass in round.

Good save!

I like Drums...

1964 Leedy (Slingerland) Blue n Silver Duco
1964 Ludwig Club Date Sparkling Silver Pearl
1966 Ludwig Super Classic Sparkling Silver Pearl

1972 Slingerland 85N Pop outfit Light Blue Pearl
1976 Ludwig Vistalite clear
1981 Gretsch SSB Gran Prix Rosewood
1987 Yamaha Turbo Tour Custom Mellow Yellow

St. George, Right On!

The patron saint of drums sold in a sporting goods and music store in south central LA where I lived.

I remember that brand.

Always liked the name.

Could I please see a close up of the badge?

Thanks sa

My first kit was a used 4 pc St George Hollywood kit in purple diamond pearl. It came with an 18" crash and a pair of 14" HH, all Ludwig by Paiste.

A kit named after the Saint George? How cool is that?

Beautiful, classic drums.
