SSB1 Gretsch

Hi All

I have a Gretsch Kit with serial numbers #00517 bass, #00767 f-tom and #00650 tom, I would think it puts them in around 69-70 ?

My question, having these low serial numbers would it or could it be pre the move to Arkansas ? Is there anywhere you can find accurate history on Gretsch drum badge dates ?

Thanks

Rick Gier has published a paper on this topic. I think you can order a copy through Rebeats.

I would place your drums more in the 1971 +/- time frame. The basis for that date is explained in the book. Please let me know what you think of it and send more information about your drums to me so that I can add them to my ever-growing database of Gretsch drums.

Rick

Gretsch drums with serial numbers,
Ludwig Keystone and B/O badge drums with serial numbers and date stamps,
Ludwig Standards from 1968-73, and
Ludwigs with paper labels from 1971-72
