Speedkings need some oiling up from time to time. Hit all moving parts with some oil every now and then and it should quiet down.

My Speed Kings always squeak at the heel joint. I don't have an answer besides oiling the area on a regular basis.

It is not an issue of oiling that is just a temporary bandaid it is an issue of metal on metal wear and movement . The only way to get rid of the squeak is to use a nylon sleeve/bushing in those places . I had one of mine done years ago from Jesse at DrumMechanix and it is smooth and silent . He sold the company but the new owner is still doing this . Here is a review and shows pics of what I am talking about .. http://www.drumforum.org/index.php?/topic/47813-review-speed-king-restoration-and-mods-by-drummechanix/

Warning ... Avoid member statuscymbal here, vintage_collector on DFO , and americanpatriot10 on eBay. Email me for his name. All are the same shady guy who has burned me and a list of other members on both boards . He is also selling on Facebook too ..

Grease, it don`t roll off like oil. Put it in several spots once or twice a year, with a Q-tip, float the footboard and that pedal goes forever.

It`s a drum,.....Hit It !!

I took the pedal apart and it does have a nylon bushing at the foorboard.I greased it up anyways. Did a lube job. I will apply grease at all of the other joints. Thanks,Vati
