Speed King parts-- adjusting screw?

It's the sort of thing that drive me nuts. I'm working on two Speed Kings. I take the four adjusting screws (from the bottom of the posts) out of the parts box to clean the threads. I run 3 through the die and .... where the hell's the fourth one?

It isn't in the Ludwig parts catalog, so I don't even know what to call it. For all I know, a good hardware store has them. But I've spent a lot of time looking for weird parts in hardware stores and don't remember seeing those.

Anyone know what they're called? Who has 'em? Where that damned fourth one is?

A chemistry prof friend of mine would say, when something went missing, "I believe in the law of preservation of matter, even in this house." Oh yeah??

Yes, but not inside the light fixtures. Maybe it IS time to clean the basement.

Okay, all jokes about incipient senility aside...

Jim Petty to the rescue.

He, by the way, also supplied a virgin top hi hat rods for one of my Spur Lok projects - made it in his machine shop, then chromed it.

He also came up with some NOS parts for the SLingerland Dynamo project. Virgin upper rod, and new clutch.

Man, one of those just sold on ebay for $36! I don't get it. Slingerland hardware is VERY well made and designed, but it has no value (at least in term of $).
