Greetings,

Someone locally has this pedal for sale along with a Hercules Hi-Hat stand and a off brand snare stand and throne.

That's the only picture I have, but it's clearly a Speed King chassis with an 80's/90's foot board. Has anyone ever seen one like this? Was this a factory job, or do you think it was done by an end user? I would love to see how the pedal connects to the chassis underneath. Looks like the original Speed King beater too.

Are you aware of any other "non-standard" Speed Kings? I know that Ludwig specially made a very limited run of chain drive (as opposed to direct drive) Speed Kings....I think for Buddy (I know Buddy used one in his mid-80's documentary/performance....the one with the pink neon sign behind him and the camera underneath his clear drum platform). I believe Ludwig made them specifically for Buddy's performance and issued a limited number of them around that time, but I could be mistaken. Also, I believe those all had normal Speed King foot boards.

Just to be clear, I know the pedal pictured is a standard, direct drive Speed King chassis.

Thanks,

V
